Peter Tonner

Peter was born in a small town in northern Germany, where he lived until 1987. His passion for music and radio began during his teenage years, when he became an enthusiastic listener to Radio Luxembourg. Its music, presenters and distinctive style inspired a lifelong fascination with radio and helped shape his future career as a DJ.

Peter began working as a club DJ in 1981 and remained active behind the decks until 2019. During almost four decades, he performed in clubs, at events and in holiday resorts across Europe, building up extensive experience with different audiences, musical styles and generations of dance music.

After making Cologne his home, his professional journey in the music industry also took him to the legendary WOM – World of Music – megastore. Surrounded by new releases and a huge variety of genres, he was able to deepen his musical knowledge before later moving into club management.

Although Peter has played many different styles over the years, disco, funk, rock and classic dance music have always remained especially close to his heart.

For more than 25 years, Peter has also run Rumble Entertainment, combining DJ bookings, events and promotional work with his other business activities.

Peter has been part of Sunshine Radio since the very first day and supported the station from its earliest beginnings. Radio presenting was initially a new experience for him, but he quickly developed his own style and became an established member of the Sunshine team.

Today, Peter presents several regular shows, sharing the music he loves and bringing nearly four decades of club DJ experience to the Sunshine Radio airwaves.
